Multi Casualty Incident

The Multi Casualty Incident App allows for the tracking of casualties from multi & mass casualty incident scenes. It allows for Sieve & Sort recoding, along with the recording of treatments administered.

The app allows for the recording of information about individual casualties throughout the pre-hospital treatment chain, and data can be viewed via the server in both individual and aggregated formats to provide a complete picture of the on-scene environment.

App Features

  • Multiple Incident Sites and casualty clearing posts
  • The tagging of casualties onto transport assets to allow for real time location tracking
  • Very rapid data entry – in real world trials, sieve scans could be completed in under 3 seconds.
  • Full MIST data to be recorded. Mechanism of Injury

o Injury description – including body map that allows for drawing and shading of injury, and the collection of accompanying photos.
o Signs – with observations graphing of observations
o Treatments – full recording of all major treatments & interventions

• Deceased tags can be utilised with the system, as well as formal certificate of death recording.
• Works to complement use of SMART Triage tags in use across all Australian jurisdictions.

Important Software features

  • System maintains a full, non destructive audit trail of all events undertaken by device users
  • All scans are automatically time and GPS tagged, in addition to standard data about which handset and which user recorded the information.
  • Server allows for the viewing of data in multiple ways to server multiple users including executive and operational views. Data can be organised in multiple ways including map view, and organised by location, by vehicle, by casualty priority, individual patient, or a combination of all of these.
  • All data encrypted from scene between server and device
  • If network is unavailable, device will store information on the device, and then automatically send any stored scans to the server. No user interaction is required.
  • Allows for the recording of transport asset details (eg number plate, or allocated barcode or ID) to allow for the tagging of casualties onto the asset, including real time tracking. This includes both aircraft and road assets.
  • Fully flexible system to allow for the real time updating of fields, lists, and buttons if required. Devices will receive the updates over the air automatically.
  • System is extremely frugal on the use of 3G/mobile data, ensuring that updates and data transfers happen very quickly even on a congested network.
  • System automatically undertakes 'guaranteed' delivery cross-checking to ensure that no data is lost in transit.

Secure

The system has been designed from the ground up to be secure. The system has been designed to meet rigorous ASD (Australian Signals Directorate, formally Defence Signals Directorate) standards. This includes the engagement of external independent computer security professionals (professional hackers) to test the product.

Existing Systems

The system is capable of on-sending data to existing data systems. Currently supported systems include WebEOC and Noggin, but the system is capable of sending information to virtually any other modern system - to provide real time location aware data from the field to your existing system, and ensure that staff can continue to use the systems they are already familiar with.

Flexible Network Connections

Handheld devices are able to utilise a range of network connections to transmit & receive data. This includes 3G/4G (Mobile Phone Data Connection), WiFi, Satellite (via WiFi)

System Works Offline

Handheld devices record the GPS location of every barcode scan undertaken, allowing for a whole range of location based information to be viewed on the server via real time updating maps. This allows you to see the current and historical locations of transport assets (planes, ambulances, helicopters etc), and patient / person locations.

In addition to this, the handhelds regularly - automatically - send their location to the server allowing you to know where both your staff and equipment are currently located.

RFID & 1D & 2D Barcode support

The system supports virtually all 1D & 2D barcode types. 2D barcodes allow for multiple fields to be populated automatically when scanned - allowing for rapid data entry. Barcodes have been the current development priority due to their extremely low cost, but RFID testing has already been undertaken, and RFID will be supported in the future.

Automatic GPS Vehicle Location Support

The system supports receiving automated location beacons information from assets like ambulances & aircraft - to allow for real time location mapping. This allows users to see where assets are in real time – and for the system to provide extra location based alerts and information – for example the estimated calculation of arrival of an vehicle at its destination.

Photo

Handset Manager

The system provides a handset manger to allow you to view all of the devices connected to your system. It shows a range of information about each device including GPS location, Software version, last time connected to the system, current or last user.

Photo

Time zone support

The system is multi-timezone aware – allowing distributed teams to record and view information seamlessly across timeszones. All times are adjusted to be shown in the users local timezone, as well as in relative time – for example '5 minutes ago',

Redundant servers

The system supports multiple servers to ensure that TrackMi continues to run, event in the unlikely event of hardware or software server failure.

Photos support.

The system allows for handheld devices to capture photos – these are compressed and then sent to the server like other data. Photos are 'geotagged' so that the location that the photo is taken is

Multiple levels of Redundancy

  • Network redundancy
  • Server redundancy
  • Handheld redundancy

Real time messaging between client and server

The system allows for real time messages to be sent between users in the field and server users. Allowing for another method of real time communication.

External Messaging

The system supports ad-hoc and automated messages to be sent to users outside of the system via both email & SMS.

No Stylus Required

The systems has been designed so that users can simply utilise their finger when interacting with the touchscreen. All buttons are large enough for fast and simple data entry.
